Supporting the Community's Black Artists

Chicago Stands Together and the Support Chicago Arts initiative was formed out of a desire to demonstrate all that can be accomplished when our community is unified and supportive of each other. Over the last few months, the arts community has faced challenges like never before due to COVID-19. And the Black community has faced far worse, for far too long.

As we work to support arts organizations across the Chicagoland area, we are working to ensure that Black arts organizations and Black artists are uplifted, that their voices are heard, and that their platforms for telling their stories can thrive when the city overcomes the COVID-19 pandemic.

The moment is now, the moment is critical, and it’s time to make a positive impact. Support Chicago Arts is actively adding more arts organizations to the Support Chicago Arts campaign, especially Black organizations.

Support Chicago Arts stands in solidarity with the Black community. To support, we are donating 100% of the profits of all face masks sales to the Chicago Artists Relief Fund. This fund was created by Chicago-area artists in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chicago Artists Relief will be allocating microgrants of up to $300 each in order to support Black artists in the greater Chicago arts community who are experiencing financial repercussions due to pandemic-related cancellations. Founded in March, Chicago Artists Relief has raised nearly $100,000 and has distributed funding to over 300 artists so far.
